How to convert 720x480 downloads to 720x486 (Media 100 and Avid systems) in After Effects.

1. Start After Effects®
   1. File > Import > File...
   2. Navigate to directory of the clip, select the .mov clip, and click "Open"
   3. Highlight the imported clip in the Project window
   4. File > Interpret Footage > Main...
   5. Frame Rate: "Use frame rate from file: (29.97fps)"
   6. Fields and Pulldown: Separate Fields: "Lower Field First"
   7. Check "Motion Detect (Best quality only)"
   8. Remove Pulldown: Off
   9. Other Options - Pixel Aspect Ratio: "D1/DV NTSC"
2. Click "OK" to define nature of imported DV clip and to separate its fields
3. Composition > New Composition...
   1. Preset: "NTSC DV, 720x480"
   2. Frame Rate: 29.97
   3. Resolution: Full
   4. Enter the clip's duration in the Duration field
4. Click "OK"
5. Drag-and-Drop the clip from the Project window to the Composition timeline
6. Window > Render Queue
7. Drag-and-Drop the "Comp 1" from Project window to the Render Queue window
8. Render Settings: Select "Custom..."
   1. Quality: Best
   2. Resolution: Full
   3. Proxy Use: "Use No Proxies"
   4. Effects: "All Off"
   5. Frame Blending: "Off For All Layers"
   6. Field Render: "None"
   7. 3:2 Pulldown: Off
   8. Motion blur: "Off For All Layers"
   9. Time span: "Length of Comp"
   10. Frame rate: "Use comp's frame rate (29.97)"
9. Click "OK"
10. Output Module: Select "Custom..."
    1. Format: Select "QuickTime® Movie"
    2. Embed: None
    3. Check "Video Output"
    4. Click "Format Options..."
    5. Compressor: None
    6. Color: "Millions of Colors"
    7. Quality: Best
    8. Motion: "Frames per second: 29.97"
11. Click "OK
    1. Channels: RGB
    2. Depth: "Millions of Colors"
    3. Color: "Premultiplied (Matted)"
    4. Check Stretch - ONLY IF YOUR NLE's FRAME-SIZE IS NOT 720x480
    5. Stretch Quality to High
    6. Select: NTSC D1, 720x486 - IF YOUR NLE's FRAME-SIZE IS 720x486
    7. Select: NTSC 640x480 - IF YOUR NLE's FRAME-SIZE IS 640x480
12. Click "OK" to close Output Module dialog box and return to Render Queue
13. Output To: Click on "Not yet specified"
    1. Specify where to save the composition, specify filename, and click "Save"
    2. Click "Render" to start the rendering process and wait until finished
    3. Close Render window
14. You can now import the uncompressed .mov clip
